I owe it to you to let you know I've been a quiet part of the project all along. The affection I feel for FToM is hard to put to words. As much as I'd like to be poetic and romantic about it, I'll keep it short and simple.

It must've been many years ago when I first heard about the story of Mike, Amanda, Larry and FToM. The earliest recollection I can find is signing up to Project Pedal back in 2009 - being 17 at the time. Once every so often FToM would pop into my head and I'd check in on the project - watching all the content I could find. Over the last couple years FToM has inspired and motivated me on many occasions while I longed for something more. Many a time I dearly wished I could finally experience the film in full. I can't express how glad I am to see this film come to full fruition.

Really, now all I need is to find the biggest, baddest screen to do the film justice. Hell, I ought to rent a theatre. Good work, Mike. You've deserved it.

Much love from Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

David

Re: FOR THOUSANDS OF MILES - Two important announcements! The first being: FOR...

So happy to hear it, Robert :) Getting to work with Eluvium on the score was just amazing.

Re: FOR THOUSANDS OF MILES - Two important announcements! The first being: FOR...

Mike, was listening to soundtrack this morning over breakfast. We would love that! The 1st stage of this whole opening-up the film's progress is to simply get people watching it, but very soon after I'd love to find people interested in doing local screenings... whether at small bike shops, their house, etc - some people who've seen the film have said they would really like to watch it with friends, so we'll see!

Re:

Very exciting Mike and a move I'm sure you will not regret.
When ready, I would love to arrange a few screenings (In movie theatres) here in NZ.

Cheers buddy

Robert

Re: for thousands of miles • It is fair to say, that with only a few days...

Oakley! It was the emotion in the 64 Days series that drew people in and I agree that I've been hoping to see a glimpse of that same emotion or revelations in the trailers.

Re: for thousands of miles • It is fair to say, that with only a few days...

I'm definitely not a biker, but I do enjoy adventures! It was the storytelling and imagery in the 64 Days series that really hooked me on this project. That and I am fascinated by the events in people's lives which cause permanent change in who they are and how they view the world around them. These are the experiences I seek myself, hoping that they will reveal a part of myself or my character that has otherwise remained hidden or has yet to be discovered. Example: In Mexico I participated in a traditional Temezcal ceremony (essentially a sweat lodge ceremony) and came away with a new and fresh perspective on my live and where I was headed.

Re: for thousands of miles • It is fair to say, that with only a few days...

Poopoo to conformity - I wanna watch a film by for and about anomalies!

Re: for thousands of miles • It is fair to say, that with only a few days...

I couldn't agree more. I'm not into biking. I'm not against biking or anything, I fully understand the appeal, but it's just not for me.
What I'm interested in is solitary trips in the wilderness, taking time for introspection, pushing your body and mind to the limits in a self-determined, ego-less way.

That's why I want to see the film.
And now that you've spelt it out this way, I realise that's why I was initially attracted to 64 days... It was even less about biking, and there was an emotion in these shorts that I was longing to find again in FTOM, and that the trailers haven't quite revealed yet.

Re: for thousands of miles • It is fair to say, that with only a few days...

I have always felt this film was beyond just about biking...you always will have my continued support and love Mike...So proud!

Re: for thousands of miles • via SPIN Ambient Music Titan Eluvium to Release...

We can't wait either!

Re: for thousands of miles • mikeambs: photo by Mike Ambs just finished...

<3

Re: for thousands of miles • photo by Mike Ambs official @ftomfilm trailer...

Tingly !!

Re: for thousands of miles • Just got to watch a sneak peak of the @FToM...

Congrats....so exciting!

Re: for thousands of miles • 7 days left till we release the film’s trailer!
